How do I get started making money?

Well that is a bit of a broad question. It all depends on how you want to make money, or to put it better to make PROFITS. Most people are looking for a way to make money on-line, but what they really want to do is make profits. Profits are what is left after you take out your costs. I am not using the term sales here because there are a variety of ways to generate profits without making a single sale. So we will use this simple formula

Revenue - Costs = Profits

The first thing you need to do (for most online ventures) is to build a website. This is not hard to do.

Think of a domain name. This is your .com or .net, there are many others that you can use like .biz, .info, .us, .ws. Go to www.wildcardcomputing.com (my recommendation). They have everything you need to get your website built. For beginners (new to web design) they have an on-line tool to build the site for you. For others that want to build it them selves they offer great hosting packages (both Windows hosting and Linux hosting). They also have other tools that will help you to promote, protect and make your site SEO (Search Engine Optimized).
** The reason I say this is the first step because getting your site listed in the Search Engines is not an easy task. You can pay to have a site listed but that is costly. It may take a little while for a search engine to find your site on it's own but while you are waiting for your site to be crawled you should be determining what is going to be on your site.
You need to determine how you are going to generate revenue. As I said earlier there are several way of doing this:
- Affiliate Programs - Promoting other peoples products for a commission
- Your own on-line store - The most effective way to do this would be to find a good Drop shipper to use.
- Foreign currency trading - FOREX
- Auctions - EBay, Yahoo Auctions, Amazon Auctions, etc.
Keywords. Now you need to identify your keywords. Your keywords are the words that are used to describe your site, product, service. This is important for search engines to find your information.
Go back to your site and make some edits. Add the keywords that you have picked to your site. Write up some information about your venture.
Update your signature for the Official WAH forum (Click on your username at the top of the page where is says "Welcome". Put a link to your new site in your signature. Announce your site/ program to the forum.

Promote, Promote, Promote.
Nothing will happen unless your site is 'out there'. So you need to promote it. There are many ways to promote your site, product, or service. I will discuss that later.
