First, you can submit your site to msn and yahoo. So I would start there. As far as Google is concerned, you have to wait for your site to be crawled. Therefore, you need to make sure you have lots of links to your site and make sure you are always updating your content. For more information on this, check out the SEO section of this forum.
You can also use a submission site like hypergurl.com/submit.html. However, the downfall to this is that many of the search engines require your email address so that they can send you marketing materials.
